Hmmmph, replying to myself....

Ok, so .gif shouldn't work because of patents, and such, but the .jpg files
do not show up either.  Could this be a problem with Image:Imlib2?

How do I find what version I'm running of it, and whether .jpg files are
supported?

Regardless, shouldn't there be some files in the .cache directory for my
pictures?
